When I finished my honors in Actuarial Science at the end of 2004, I started working as a data analyst at Standard Bank - it involved a lot of analytics and compiling of reports. My career evolved over time to include more and more documentation. Eventually I was not the person compiling the documents anymore, but the one ensuring that the documents are perfect in every way - from the formatting of the graphs right down to basic grammar. I realized that I love doing this. So when my son was born in 2011, I decided to quit the corporate rat race and embrace the two loves in my life - my family and reading. I am currently proofreading on a freelance basis, which still gives me plenty of time with my son as his primary caregiver. And I am loving every minute of it!
